A moderate undersea earthquake shook the Mediterranean resort town of Alanya on Sunday, but caused no damage or injuries, according to AP. The quake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 4.8, was centered in the Mediterranean Sea, some 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the shore, and shook Alanya at 02:46 a.m. (2346 GMT Saturday), the Istanbul-based Kandilli observatory said. Alanya, with its long sandy beaches, is popular with tourists from Germany and the Netherlands.
