A high-level official in the Iraqi Foreign Ministry was killed by unknown assailants in west Baghdad, state television reported Sunday. Al-Iraqiya television channel reported Ministry of Interior sources as saying that Jassim Mohamed, general manager for the Foreign Ministry, was killed Saturday night in west Baghdad, DPA reported. Mohamed was exchanging pleasantries with his neighbours outside his home when assailants opened fire in his direction. Three of his neighbours were injured in the incident.
