Pele, Brazil's most famous football player, was made an honorary member of Greek football club Olympiakos at a ceremony in Athens Thursday. dpa reported Joining the Brazilian star to receive the honour at Athens' Olympic Karaiskaki stadium were fellow countrymen Giovani and Rivaldo, who have both switched to Pireaus-based Olympiakos. "I remember well the first friendly game we played against Olympiakos 40 years ago, before even Giovani and Rivaldo were born. I am moved that after so many years people still love and embrace me. Football unites the world and gives pleasure," Pele told the crowd. During the ceremony Pele said he was angry with Rivaldo for not deciding to play with Santos. "I am angry with you because in the summer Santos made you an offer but you refused to come and instead selected Olympiakos." Pele also commented on Giovani's skill during his time with Santos. --More 2320 Local Time 2020 GMT
