Brazil's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Liuiz Sergio Gama Figueira described the visit of Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, to Brazil in 2000 as a milestone in the history of relations between the Arab countries and the South American country. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency to mark the opening of the South America-Arab countries summit, ongoing in Brasilia, Brazil, today, the Ambassador termed the visit as historical. He said Crown Prince Abdullah's visit has ushered in an era of new relations between the two blocs. He said the final communiqué of the current summit in Brasilia will cover all issues of mutual concern, including Palestine and Iraq in addition to commercial, investment and tourism issues. He added that the meeting would probe the economic potentials in the two areas and ways of achieving mutual benefits.
