A high profile conference on Saudi Arabia's forthcoming mega projects opens later today at the Eastern Province's Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Topics to be discussed during the three-day meeting are the opportunities in the oil services, gas, petrochemical, power, desalination, mining, transportation and infrastructure sectors. Some 400 local, regional and international delegates, in addition to government officials, representatives of the diplomatic community, and academicians, have been invited to attend the conference. In a report published today, Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz, the Governor of the Eastern Province, will inaugurate the conference. He will speak on the future of the Eastern Province as a center of excellence in energy services. Other keynote speakers at the opening ceremony are Prince Saud Bin Thunayan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and Abdullah Jumah, president and chief operating officer of Saudi Aramco. --MORE 1105 Local Time 0805 GMT
