Pakistani Prime Minister Shuakat Aziz Sunday said a staff member of his country's mission who had been abducted in Iraq early this month was set free unharmed. Malik Mohammad Javed, who did not have diplomat status, disappeared on April 9 after leaving for evening prayers near his Baghdad home. Later, the Omar Khattab group claimed to have kidnapped him. "Malik Javed has been released. I have just talked to his wife and family," Shuakat Aziz told reporters. Without divulging any details, foreign ministry spokesman Jalil Abbas Jilani said that Javed is "absolutely" fine and will be home withing a day or two. Officials had earlier believed that the motive of this kidnapping was ransom.
