Pakistan and India have agreed to immediately release nationals who inadvertently crossed over their border in a move aimed at preventing lengthy detentions and repatriation procedures, an official said Sunday. Pakistani and Indian officials will free anyone found to have strayed over the border by accident "without going into lengthy and complicated (repatriation) procedures," said Maj. Gen. Javed Zia, the head of Pakistan's Sindh Rangers border security force. "We passed on the information to local commanders this morning," Zia said, a day after wrapping up four-day talks on combating drug trafficking and illegal immigration in the southern city of Karachi with Indian Border Security Force officials. Gurpreet Singh Gill, the head of India's Border Security Force in Punjab, led a 17-member delegation to the talks in Karachi, Pakistan's largest city.
