The Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA), chaired by Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, has decided to purchase 15 new jet planes with small sizes. The 66-seat planes will be operated in the domestic and regional flights. Dr Khalid bin Bakr, the Director General of SAA, said the purchase of the new planes comes in line with the directives of Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz for meeting requirements of passengers at the domestic and regional arenas. 'Following intensive studies for the offers presented by a number of aircraft manufacturing international companies, these planes, which are characterized with a developed and modem technology, have been selected', he said adding that 'it is hoped that these new planes will positively contribute to extending excellent services to passengers inside and outside the Kingdom.'
