Iraqi security forces have arrested a nephew of Izzat al-Douri, a former vice-president of Iraq and one of Saddam Hussein's closest aides, it was announced Sunday. An official government statement said Hashim Hussein Radhan was arrested on March 7. The statement called him "a former officer in the dissolved intelligence service" and said he was "in charge of supporting and directing terrorists in the Za'ab river region". Last month, the Iraqi government announced a 10 million dollar reward for information leading to the capture of al-Douri, who is accused of directing insurgent operations in Iraq. Sunday's statement said that al-Jabouri had received money from al-Douri to set up terrorist organizations and finance military operations in Iraq.
