Heavily armed Maoist rebels dragged villagers out of their homes in western Nepal and killed at least 10 in a midnight attack, police said on Saturday. Details of the raid on Shobhani village, in a strong Maoist area about 250 km (160 miles) west of Kathmandu, were sketchy. "There were many rebels, who asked the villagers to come out of their homes just before midnight and shot them dead," a police officer told Reuters. An army officer said four homes were also torched.
