The Lebanese army dismantled Thursday a bag of explosives found in Marjeoun village, 125 kilometres south of Beirut, security sources said. The bag was lying on the roadside near the village entrance, sources said. A passerby saw the suspicious looking bag and alerted the army. The army estimated that about 50 kilogrammes of explosives had been placed inside. Meanwhile, Lebanese army units found about five Mortar shells with Hebrew inscriptions near the seafront in Ghaziyeh village, 40 kilometres south of Beirut. They had not been set to explode, sources said. Since March 19, Lebanon has been targeted by a series of blasts concentrated mainly in Christian areas in east Beirut. Lebanese army units have intensified patrols throughout the country. --SP 0007 Local Time 2107 GMT
