Quds city, April 13, SPA -- Israeli soldiers demolished a tiny Jewish settlement outpost in the West Bank for the 25th time, but area residents pledged Wednesday to quickly rebuild it. The United States and the Palestinians have urged Israel to remove the outposts, which are seen as the seeds of future settlements. U.S. President George W. Bush asked Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in a meeting this week to honor the U.S.-backed "road map" peace plan, which calls for a removal of outposts. The outposts typically consist of small buildings, generators and in some cases, inhabited trailer homes. Sharon has repeatedly said Israel will carry out its road map obligations, but Israel has been slow to remove the outposts. In many cases, settlers have quickly rebuilt the structures.
