Turkish president to visit Syria this week

Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer
will make a two-day visit to neighboring Syria this week,
his office announced Tuesday.
Sezer will travel to Syria on Wednesday, his office said in a statement.
The visit is a follow-up to Syrian President Bashar
Assad's trip to Turkey last year, the first by a Syrian
head of state and a symbol of improved ties between the two
neighbors.
