General Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Assistant Deputy Commander of the National Guard for Military Affairs, inaugurated here today the First Pan-Arab Congress in Evidence-Based Medicine. The four-day Congress is organized by the National and Gulf Center for Evidence-Based Medicine. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Haya Al-Fozan, the Head of the Conference's Scientific Committee, highlighted the big strides made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of medical services. She noted that the Congress aims at discussing various topics pertaining to evidence-based medicine. The activities of the Congress include discussion of seven working papers. The Congress will be followed by four workshops at the Training Center of Higher Studies at King Abdulaziz National Guard Medical City. On his part, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah said the National Guard has become a military, cultural and scientific institution. He praised the remarkable progress made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of medical services, and said the Saudi hospitals have become competitive to several international hospitals. The opening ceremony of the Congress was attended by Minister of Health Dr Hamad Al-Mani and a number of senior officials.
