British heir to the throne Prince Charles finally marries Camilla Parker Bowles on Saturday. Crowds gathered in bright sunshine and a chilly breeze in the riverside town of Windsor, west of London, to catch a glimpse of the couple as they drive from the imposing castle to the local town hall for a 30-minute civil ceremony. Security was extra tight around Windsor with snipers on rooftops, officers mingling in the crowd and police with sniffer dogs checking the route, Reuters reported. Camilla left for the wedding from Clarence House, Charles's London residence, while he was coming up from his country estate at High grove in western England. After delicate backroom negotiations with the British establishment, Charles, 56, and Camilla, 57, have won the tacit approval of church and state. Prime Minister Tony Blair will attend the blessing afterwards in the chapel at Windsor Castle, to be conducted by Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, spiritual leader of the world's 77 million Anglicans. The honeymoon is to be spent in Scotland.
