Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev, who fled the country after his office was stormed by demonstrators last month, arrived Sunday for talks with a delegation of Kyrgyz officials who are seeking his resignation. Akayev came to the Kyrgyz Embassy to meet with the delegation led by parliament speaker Omurbek Tekebayev. Tekebayev said earlier that Akayev had given a verbal agreement that he would resign. "We hope to return to Kyrgyzstan tonight with his resignation," he told The Associated Press on a flight from the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek early Sunday.
