Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt left hospital Friday, two days after undergoing an emergency procedure to widen an artery to the heart. Verhofstadt, 51, complained of chest pains on Tuesday and was flown back from his holiday home in Italy to undergo the angioplasty procedure in Ghent, where he lives. A smiling Verhofstadt left hospital Friday morning, accompanied by his wife. He expects to resume work next week.
