Many Zimbabweans who fled political turmoil and economic meltdown at home accused President Robert Mugabe of fraud in Thursday's elections, and some urged mass protests while others talked about a revolution. "The election has been rigged," said Gabriel Shumba, chairman of the Zimbabwe Exile Forum. "But we will make that country ungovernable. People cannot continue to be forced out of their country because of oppression." Shumba said 25 Zimbabwean pressure groups in South Africa would meet after the announcement of the election results, expected by Saturday, to decide what to do next. An estimated 3 million Zimbabweans, or almost a quarter of the country's population, have fled abroad as economic problems ranging from high inflation to soaring unemployment cripple their once prosperous country. Many have headed for neighboring South Africa. Others have gone further afield to countries such as Britain and the United States. Zimbabwe's parliamentary elections were widely expected to deliver another victory for Mugabe's ruling ZANU-PF party, accused by the opposition and Western countries of rigging previous polls. --More 2222 Local Time 1922 GMT
