German Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Gerhard Enver Schrombgens visited the facilities of the Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq) and commended the firm's endeavor in boosting the national economy. The ambassador was received at Marafiq's sea water cooling facility at Jubail Industrial City by the company president and CEO, Abdullah S. Al-Marei and top officials. Welcoming the envoy, Al-Marei focused on Marfiq's philosophy, its role in the growth of national industry, its international character and its commitment to the economic development plans for Jubail and Yanbu. He stressed that Marafiq was a standard-bearer of the country's privatization drive. He also referred to Marafiq's upcoming independent water and power plant to be established initially in Jubail. Sa'ad Al-Mutairy, operations manager at the sea water cooling facility, gave a presentation on its operation. The German envoy was later given a tour of the facility.
