Kyrgyzstan's parliament on Saturday set June 26 as the date for an election to replace President Askar Akayev, who was ousted after demonstrators stormed government headquarters, the Interfax news agency reported. It was not immediately clear whether elections would also be called for parliament. This year's disputed parliamentary elections, which triggered the uprising against Akayev, were annulled by the Supreme Court after Thursday's storming. The previous parliament was declared still valid, but members of the recently elected body also have been meeting.
