Germany and Poland's foreign ministers were expected in Ukraine on Monday for talks with Ukraine's new pro-Western leadership about expanding cooperation with this ex-Soviet republic. Germany Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer and Poland's Adam Rotfeld planned to meet with President Viktor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko. Both men are also due to hold talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk. The one-day visit is expected to focus on Ukraine's ambitions to join the European Union and what help Kiev can expect from Germany and Poland to reach that goal, the Foreign Ministry said.
