Early Thursday, roughly 30 Israeli yeshiva (Jewish seminary) students in the West Bank settlement of Nahliel attacked eight Palestinian workers as they entered the front gates, Israel police said. The students attacked the workers with clubs and stones as they entered the settlement, sending three of the Palestinian to a Ramallah hospital for medical attention. One of the Palestinians injured told deutsche presse-agentur dpa that once they got past the guard booth at the entrance to the settlement, a mob of students chanting "we don't want Arabs here" attacked them. Israeli police said their forces arrived at the scene to quell the group and detained a 24-year-old counsellor from the yeshiva and another student who were believed to have incited the students, media reports said. Israel's Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) said some 11,300 Palestinians are employed throughout the West Bank often in construction of Jewish settlements. --More 2346 Local Time 2046 GMT
