Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal said Monday his group of companies would invest in Pakistan's tourism sector, construct hotels and look for joint ventures in other areas. Prince Al-Waleed, who arrived in Islamabad on Sunday for a two-day visit to Pakistan, was addressing a joint press briefing after a detailed presentation by 10 national organizations of Pakistan, to identify potential areas of cooperation and investment, at the Prime Minister's Secretariat. Prince Al-Waleed, who is the Chairman of the Kingdom Holding Company, said they had approved a macro-study of Pakistan's tourism sector and would invest in international hotels at Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. He said after the "very solid presentations" on various sectors it was decided to conduct a study, and in a month or two, the company would purchase, go for alliance or construct the hotels. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on the occasion that Pakistan had opened its doors to the foreign investors and there was no discrimination between them and the locals. "Investment by Prince Al-Waleed would give the right signal to the international investors," the prime minister said. Prince Al-Waleed has business ventures in 105 countries.
