The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance has announced that it has prepared 20,714 mosques and open-air spaces for holding Eid Al-Fitr prayers in 1444 AH throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ministry, represented by its branches in all regions of the kingdom, has completed all maintenance, operation, and hygiene preparations at the mosques to receive the worshippers of Eid Al-Fitr prayers. This is in line with the ministry's mission to provide care for the mosques, God's houses, and their visitors, ensuring that the worshippers can perform the prayers in devotional atmospheres with concentration and tranquillity. The ministry has instructed the mosques' employees to implement its directives regarding the time of holding Eid Al-Fitr prayers, which is a quarter of an hour after sunrise. Furthermore, if Eid Al-Fitr day coincides with Friday, those who attend the Eid prayers are granted permission not to attend the Friday prayers and can instead perform the noon prayers, according to the fatwa (Islamic edict) issued by the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta'. However, it is still better for those who attended the Eid prayers to also perform the Friday prayers, according to the fatwa. The ministry has assigned more than 6,000 male and female observers to monitor the preparations at the mosques and the relevant work of the maintenance and operation companies. In this regard, the ministry has urged citizens and residents of the different Saudi areas to communicate with the Department of Beneficiary Services at "1933" in case they have any comments on the services provided at mosques.
