Palestinian-American contestant Yasser Omar Shaheen, a Hollywood film and television scriptwriter, participated in today's episode of Otr Elkalam--one of the initiatives of the General Authority for Entertainment (GEA)--in the recitation category of the international Quran and adhan (Muslim call to prayer) competition. He entertained the audience with an audio richness that tugged their ears with different colors of distinguished performance. Shaheen said, "My life is a mixture of memorizing and reciting the holy Quran and writing scripts in Hollywood, where I supervised the production of more than 130 programs, produced 14 documentaries, and contributed to several shows on TV channels of Arab and Islamic countries." Yasser enjoyed teaching Muslim children the verses of the holy Quran and the rules of intonation in mosques in Dallas, Texas. "Otr Elkalam" is one of the most prominent Ramadan TV shows, due to its collection of words of revelation, and the eloquence of prayer that is raised with the best and most beautiful voices in the world. The competition aims to shed light on the distinguished voices in reciting the holy Quran and raising the call to prayer and contributing to improving the performance of the contestants and viewers.
