Rebels in Chechnya have raided a police station in Chechnya, killing one officer and wounding 18 others, officials said Wednesday. The police officer was killed Tuesday when militants raided a police station in the village of Sernovodskaya, 35 kilometers (22 miles) west of the Chechen capital, Grozny, Russia's Interior Ministry spokesman Boris Proshkin said on NTV television. In the gunbattle that lasted for more than one hour, five rebels were killed and seven others captured, he said.
