The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, chaired the Cabinet's session held Tuesday at Irqah Palace in Riyadh. The Cabinet reviewed the content of a meeting between His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with the Prime Minister of Poland, during which they addressed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing prospects for cooperation in various areas. The Cabinet also went over the outcome of a meeting between HRH the Crown Prince and the chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, during which the Kingdom's continued support for the council, the Yemeni government, the brotherly people of Yemen, and efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution under the auspices of the United Nations were reaffirmed. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari said that the Cabinet addressed various foreign policy issues stemming from the pivotal role the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has internationally, its permanent keenness to enhance security and stability in the region and the world, and its giving preference to political solutions and dialogue. In this context, the Cabinet touched on the agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beijing, under the generous directives of the Kingdom's leadership and in response to the initiative of His Excellency Chinese President Xi Jinping, that includes resuming diplomatic relations between the two countries and affirming the principles of the respect for the sovereignty of states and the non-interference in internal affairs of states, adhering to the principles and objectives of Charters of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and International conventions and norms. The Cabinet expressed hope to continue the constructive dialogue in accordance with the pillars and foundations included in the agreement, and in a way that benefits the two countries and the region in general, and enhances regional and international peace and security. The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom's stance in support of all international endeavours to find a political solution to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and facilitate dialogue between the two sides, and of all efforts that would alleviate the tension and suffering endured by all due to the ramifications of the crisis, especially by developing and least developed countries. The Cabinet also highlighted the Kingdom's commitment, at the United Nations Conference in Doha, to working with the international community to support the least developed countries to help them overcome their circumstances and challenges, and drive them towards progress and development, in addition to continuing to play a leading role in all development areas, regionally and internationally, by successfully implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The minister pointed out that the Cabinet discussed several reports on international conferences hosted by the Kingdom over the past few days in order to keep pace with developments in the world, and develop and seize new opportunities through coordination, exchange of vision and cooperation. The Cabinet has also followed up on the economic developments in the Kingdom, in view of the positive results of the economic reform and fiscal discipline programmes envisaged in the Saudi Vision 2030 for the national economy, which was the fastest growing at G20 level in 2022, with low inflation and sustained growth in the medium term, supported by the growth of non-oil contributors to the GDP. The Cabinet was briefed on several points on its agenda and issued the following decisions: First: Approving security cooperation agreement and cooperation agreement on the arrival of pilgrims between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Second: Approving the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Cook Islands at the level of non-resident ambassador, and authorizing the Minister of Foreign Affairs or his deputy to sign the necessary draft protocol. Third: Approving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's accession to the agreement on the Conservation and Management of Straddling Fish Stocks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in 1995, affiliated with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea in 1982. Fourth: Approving a draft declaration of intent between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and authorizing the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources or his deputy to discuss and sign it. Fifth: Approving a memorandum of understanding for scientific and technical cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Greece. Sixth: Approving a memorandum of cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Morocco in the field of mutual recognition of Halal certificates for local products. Seventh: Authorizing the Minister of Media and Chairman of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority or his deputy to hold talks with counterparts in other countries regarding a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the radio and television field between the Saudi Broadcasting Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its counterparts in other countries, and sign it. Eighth: Approving a cooperation memorandum between King Abdulaziz Darah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National Archives of Indonesia in the archiving field. Ninth: Approving - in principle - transferring King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital into an independent institution with a special non-profit nature and owned by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, under the name King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center. Tenth: Approving a promotion to the fifteenth rank and an appointment. The Cabinet has also reviewed several issues on its agenda and taken necessary procedures in their regard.
