The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participates in the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), which is being held in New York from March 6 to 17, 2023, with a delegation headed by the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Maymouna bint Khalil Al Khalil, to discuss the issue, "Innovation, technological change and education in the digital age to achieve equality and empower all women and girls" and review the topic of the 62nd session "Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls." The delegation includes Dr Lana bint Saeed, and Al-Anoud Al-Haniwi, as representatives of the Family Affairs Council; Shorouk Al-Quwaie, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Adviser Dr Maha Al-Dahhi, a representative of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture; Dr Haya Al-Maqushi, as representative of the National Cybersecurity Authority; Farah Aba Al-Khail, as representative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; Dr Fatima Baathman, as representative of the non-profit sector; and Duha Bedaiwi, as representative of the youth from Salam Project for Cultural Communication. The delegation's participation in the CSW67 meetings confirms the Kingdom's position and leading role in innovation and technology and its commitment to achieving complementary equality and ensuring equal opportunities for their contribution to the digital transformation process. It also reviews the pioneering and qualitative national efforts and achievements in this sector, notably highlighting the initiative to empower women in communications and information technology, HRH the Crown Prince's international initiative to empower women in cybersecurity, and efforts of the non-profit sector in the areas of technological change, in addition to reviewing the package of initiatives and programs launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance women's contribution to rural development in the context of discussing what countries have achieved regarding the 62nd 2018 session. The participation of the international community in progress was made concerning the topic of discussion for this year: innovation and technological change. Dr. Al Khalil explained that this international forum is an opportunity to review the achievements made in the field of women's empowerment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the context of the sustainable development goals and the Kingdom's Vision 2030. She noted that the Kingdom's participating delegation would highlight the role of the Kingdom's initiatives in enhancing women's opportunities and their active participation in the process of digital transformation at the local and international levels, which stem from the Kingdom's firm belief in the importance of empowering women in all fields.
