Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, met today in Bali, Indonesia, with several presidents of Indonesian public universities in Padang on the sidelines of their participation in the Second International Conference of ASEAN Countries "Khayr Ummah", which was organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs. The minister was briefed on the programs and activities of Indonesian public universities, in addition to discussing various issues of common interest. The university presidents praised the Kingdom's efforts, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, in serving the Indonesian people and providing scholarships in Saudi universities, from which thousands of Indonesian male and female students benefited, praising the outstanding development in the Kingdom's higher education system, and the success of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs' organization of the second ASEAN International Conference, which enjoyed wide participation from scholars and thinkers and consolidated the pioneering role played by the Kingdom in spreading moderation and countering extremism.
