The 22nd Arab Radio and Television Festival concluded its activities here Saturday evening. The festival was held Under the theme "Media in A Shaping World" for the first time outside Tunisia, the country of headquarters. The festival closing ceremony was held under the patronage of the CEO of Saudi Broadcasting Corporation (SBA) and President of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), Mohammed Al-Harthi. In his speech at the closing ceremony, Al-Harthi stressed that the media industry is accelerating, which requires the initiative to face challenges and keep pace with this change, indicating that exhibition comes in conjunction with the Arab Radio and Television Festival, stressing that the Kingdom is experiencing a qualitative leap and remarkable development under its prudent leadership, pointing to the launch of "Montag" initiative to stimulate creativity and innovators, and advance the media industry and its advanced technologies to reach an Arab media that competes globally. The ceremony witnessed the crowning of the winners of the radio and television festival's competitions, and a video presentation of the festival's story, then the large audience enjoyed a performance made by the Saudi Theater & Performing Arts Commission. The 4-day festival witnessed a number of artistic and scientific works and initiatives, as the opening ceremony was launched last Wednesday evening in the presence of the Acting Minister of Media, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, organized by SBA and ASPU, in addition to the launch of the "Future of Media" exhibition in the presence of more than 15,000 participants, 1,000 media professionals from different countries of the world, and 200 production companies, representing the most important regional and international media organizations and bodies. The 22nd edition of the festival included the honoring of a number of pioneers in the Arab media and cinema industry by the Acting Minister of Media, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi in recognition of their effective contributions to enriching the media and artistic content in the Arab world, in addition to honoring a number of honorary guests of the festival in appreciation of their great career in enriching the Arab world with distinguished works. For his part, Al-Harthi honored the winners of the radio and television exchange awards and the heads and rapporteurs of the festival's competitions juries.
