The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will convene the 12th session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers under the theme: Combating Disinformation and Islamophobia in the Post-Truth Era in Istanbul, Republic of Turkiye, on 21 and 22 October 2022. The OIC Secretary-General, Hissein Brahim Taha, will address the opening session of the conference where he is expected to focus on the role of the OIC in the various fields of information which benefit Member States and highlight their roles in various fields and on a myriad of issues. The conference is expected to discuss many issues, notably the importance of intensifying media action on the question of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Shareef, highlighting issues of the African OIC Member States, the role of the OIC in combating Islamophobia, portraying the true image of Islam and eschewing extremism and terrorism in the media circles. The conference is also expected to discuss issues relating to developing media expertise and training in the Muslim world.
