The Ministry of Commerce's inspection teams have implemented more than 18,000 tours to monitor markets and prices, including 1,062 field visits to check on prices, during which teams carried out more than 32,000 operations for checking on prices of goods and products in all points of sale over the past week. The ministry's inspection teams checked on the prices of 280 basic commodities through an e-detection system to follow on the prices accurately and inquire about any unjustified prices before taking necessary procedures about such price hikes immediately. These visits aim at monitoring markets and checking on levels of prices, following up on the availability of products and ensuring having multiple suppliers, the availability of alternative products with high quality, in addition to ensuring compliance of commercial facilities with the ministry's regulations to protect and preserve consumers' rights. The ministry also called on consumers to report commercial violations through the unified number 1900 or "Balagh Tijari" (commercial report) application.
