U.N. chief Kofi Annan said Sunday that urgent help is needed from NATO and the European Union for Sudan's region of Darfur. Annan said even with the help already given by the United Nations and the EU, as well as by the United States and other countries, the African Union's "capacity to meet the requirements in the area of security is dwarfed by the size of the challenge." "People are dying every single day, while we fail to protect them," Annan told a gathering of top defense officials.
