A passenger trawler collided with a ferry and sank in southwestern Bangladesh on Saturday, leaving 22 people missing, police said. At least 10 passengers swam ashore or were rescued by residents after the accident on the Rupsha River in Khulna, 136 kilometers (85 miles) southwest of the capital Dhaka, local police chief Habibur Rahman said. The trawler was carrying about 32 people when it collided with the ferry shortly after leaving the terminal, he said. Rescuers were searching for those missing, and police had launched an investigation, he said.
