As part of its efforts to supply impoverished areas in the Islamic world and elsewhere with potable water, the Riyadh-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has drilled 2 shallow wells in Somalia at a total cost of S.R 23.300. Dr. Abdulwahab Noorwali, the Assistant Secretary General of (WAMY), said one well has been named after the contributor, Al-Fadhl and was sunk in the town of Kismayo, while the other one which bears the name of Nawal Kurdi, was sunk in Ail Ado Marka in lower Juba. He pointed out that this achievement would not have been realized had it not been for the grace of Allah and the generous contribution of the benefactors. It is worth noting that (WAMY) works hard to provide poor communities with their essential need of water to improve their level conditions. It has drilled surface and artesian wells in many countries particularly those that were afflicted with drought.
