The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance has completed its preparations to launch the 42nd King Abdulaziz International Award for the memorization, recitation and interpretation of the Holy Quran, which will be held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud between 14 and 25 of the current month at the Grand Holy Mosque with the participation of 153 contestants from 111 countries, where the total amount of awards is estimated at SAR 2.7 million. On the occasion, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh extended appreciation and gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, for the attention and support they attach to this award. He also noted that the award has five branches and encourages Muslims to increase their turnout to the Holy Quran in terms of memorizing and understanding, adding that the award stimulates fair competition among those who memorize the Holy Quran across the world and increases bonds of Muslim young people with the Holy Quran, in a way that ensures the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's care for the Holy Quran and its interest in encouraging the memorization, recitation and interpretation of the Holy Quran that represents the righteous path for all its walks of life.
