The first sea shipment of wheat grains from Ukraine to the Horn of Africa was launched for the humanitarian operations managed by the World Food Program (WFP). The program indicated, in a press release today, that this event represents support for efforts to export cereals to global markets or countries most affected by the global food crisis. It explained that the shipment, carrying 23,000 metric tons of wheat, will be directed to support the humanitarian response operation implemented by the WFP in the Horn of Africa, where the famine threatens the drought-stricken region.
