The Saudi team for Special Olympics Unified Football has made a historic accomplishment by winning the gold medal in the Special Olympics Unified Cup-Detroit 2022, USA, by beating Romanian team 3-1 in the final match today. The competing teams in addition to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are from Brazil, Jamaica, Korea, Morocco, Nigeria, Paraguay, Romania, Singapore, and USA. Saudi Director of Special Olympics, Abdulrahman Al-Quraishi, congratulated players, technical and administrative staff, and members of the Saudi mission for this great achievement, praising the efforts made by all to win the gold medal. In turn, President of International Special Olympics, Dr. Timothy Shriver, congratulated the Saudi team for winning the gold medal.
