The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), based in the State of Kuwait, welcomed late Wednesday the official request submitted by the Olympic and Paralympic Committee for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 9th Asian Winter Games at Trojena in Neom in 2029. The Council said in a press statement that its general assembly meeting, scheduled to be hosted by the Kingdom of Cambodia on the 4th of next October, will take the decision to host the events of the session, which was launched in Japan in 1986, and is considered the largest sports event in the winter of the Asian continent. He explained that the city of Trojena in the northwest of the Kingdom, which is being developed as a winter sports destination within the framework of the Saudi Vision 2030 program, "is a place where landscapes coexist in harmony with tourist sites."
