Estonia awards national honor to former U.S. President
George Bush Published in Saudi Press Agency on 14 - 01 - 2005


Former U.S. President George Bush
has been given one of Estonia's highest awards, the Order
of the Cross of Terra Mariana.
Bush, who was president from 1989-1993, was honored for
his support of Estonian independence during the 1991
collapse of the Soviet Union, which had occupied the Baltic
state since World War II.
Estonian President Arnold Ruutel signed the decree on
Wednesday, his office said Thursday.
