Jadidat Arar land port in the northern border region is a regional economic and logistical gateway to the northern part of the Kingdom with Iraq, which was recently developed commercially, in addition to receiving pilgrims annually through a digitalized services system to provide the best customs facilities. According to a study conducted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Northern Borders Region, the average growth rate of trade exchange from the second quarter of 2017 to the second quarter of 2021 stood at around 12.8%. The trade balance tilted in favor of the Kingdom, as the volume of exports amounted to about SAR851.8 million, while the volume of imports amounted to about SAR8.6 million in the second quarter of 2021. The Kingdom's exports to Iraq include aluminum, electrical appliances, goods manufactured from grains or flour, dairy, eggs, animal products, and metal products). Meanwhile, this Kingdom's imports from Iraq include (aluminum, gum, vegetable juices, sugar and its products, and copper and its products). The port consists of a yard harnessing the export and import areas, inspection yards, and security buildings, prepared per specific standards for developing the work environment, rehabilitating staff housing, the international road, and improving the visual perspective of the port.
