The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the special envoy of his country to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Chen Weiqing has praised the distinguished intellectual and scientific efforts being exerted by the Jeddah-based international Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) in disseminating the culture of moderation, tolerance and coexistence in the world. The Chinese ambassador stressed, during his visit to the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the international Islamic Fiqh Academy yesterday, his country's endeavor to strengthen relations of cooperation, coordination and partnership with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its affiliated bodies, especially the international Islamic Fiqh Academy, which is the supreme jurisprudential reference for the OIC member states and the Muslim communities outside the Islamic world. For his part, the Secretary General of the international Islamic Fiqh Academy, Prof. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, considered the visit of the Chinese ambassador a clear expression of willingness to enhance cooperation and coordination on various issues and that concern Muslim communities in China, stressing IIFA's readiness to cooperate with the Chinese authorities in order to promote the approach of moderation and tolerance among the Muslim communities residing there.
