Attorney General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib visited the headquarters of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) and met with Secretary General Christophe Bernasconi over several issues of mutual interest. The attorney general delivered a speech expressing his happiness for visiting the headquarters of the conference among a delegation of specialists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of the judicial integration to enhance and fortify judicial principles and rule of law. He stressed that the Attorney General Office has effectively contributed to the national transformation process for the Kingdom Vision 2030 in its legal, judicial, economic and social diversity aspects, referring to what the wise leadership attaches of great importance to the rule of law with its legislative, judicial and executive authorities, and the transparent and impartial procedural governance. He also noted that the statements of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to develop the legislative environment, evidentiary bylaw, personal status bylaw, the draft civil transactions bylaw, and the draft penal bylaw will constitute a new wave of reforms to increase the level of efficiency of judicial apparatuses and enhance the credibility of procedures and inspection mechanisms. Al-Mujib highlighted the importance of international cooperation in combating crime through coordinating efforts, exchanging information and activating legal assistance according to the judicial specializations and principles of countries' sovereignty, adding that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's joining of the Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents (Apostille Convention) represents the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to international action and consequent responsibilities. For his part, Bernasconi praised the supportive role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the international law rules and international and bilateral agreements and conventions under the framework of intentional organization and what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attaches of care and interest to the rule of law and authorities granted to judicial institutions, referring to the civil development the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing in all fields.
