Al-Baha University earned for the first time in its history a global accomplishment in The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2022, which measures the performance of universities based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), achieving an advanced position within the top 801 - 1000 in the world. The rector of Al-Baha University, Dr. Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Hussein, praised the efforts and distinctions made by the university's staff, which contributed to getting this global achievement, stressing that this achievement reflects the university's efforts towards enhancing its role in supporting sustainable development, and achieving the national strategies for Vision 2030, in light of the constant support that the universities receive from the Saudi leadership, which has been largely reflected in the outputs and services provided by the university. Dr. Al-Hussein also hailed the support, follow-up, and care of the Governor of Al-Baha, the Minister of Education, and the Deputy Minister for Universities, Research, and Innovation, for their efforts that serve the university, its activities, and programs.
