U.S. President George W. Bush will ask Congress for an additional 80 billion dollars for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to media reports on Monday. According to congressional sources the White House Office of Management and Budget is expected to announce the request as early as today, reported the Washington Post. If approved, the latest request will push the total authorized for the war on terror to more than 280 billion dollars since the first funds were approved shortly after the attacks of September 11.
