European shares edged higher on Monday led by a rally in healthcare stocks, Reuters reported. The pan-European STOXX 600 index was up 0.3% after ending last week up 1%. Drugmaker Roche rose 1.5% after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted priority review to its drug to treat COVID in hospitalised adults. Novartis jumped 0.8% on a plan to integrate its pharmaceuticals and oncology units, which could see savings of at least $1 billion by 2024. The healthcare sector rose 1%.
