Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council for Economic and Development Affairs, Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) kicked off today in Riyadh at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh and Ritz-Carlton Hotel, which is organized by the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha'at) in cooperation with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). The congress – launched under the theme Reboot, Rethink and Regenerate over four days – will address several subjects that seek to increase assistance to entrepreneurs to expand their businesses worldwide, granting them necessary skills to face crises and enhance flexibility of doing businesses through more than 100 discussion sessions that see the participation of more than 150 speakers and in the presence of entrepreneurs, investors, experts and decision makers from 180 countries. The congress, considered the biggest globally to build a unified world system for entrepreneurship, is concerned with shedding light on entrepreneurship, innovation, and investment opportunities, in addition to enabling business policymakers from listening to entrepreneurs and knowing about challenges they face in a bid to prepare more flexible procedures and enhance the ease and sustainability of entrepreneurship. It also constitutes an open platform for startups to offer their ideas and providing an opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet with their peers in the world and benefit from their expertise, listen to the views of the most important international experts in this field and facilitate the signing of deals between international investors and their local peers. The congress also includes an accompanying exhibition at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and innovation workshops and sections, in addition to several events that aim at developing the values of entrepreneurship and innovation among the youth in the world so as to contribute to the sustainable entrepreneur development. It will also provide an ideal opportunity to comprehend lessons offered by the global pandemic, getting acquainted with the best practices in dealing with crises and preserving the flexibility of commercial activities and their sustainability.
