The Shura Council's Saudi-Cypriot Parliamentary Friendship Committee met today in Riyadh with the Cypriot Ambassador to the Kingdom, Stavros Avgoustides, chaired by Council's member and Chairman of the Committee, Saleh bin Manea Al-Khelaiwi The Cypriot ambassador hailed the Kingdom's key and globally important role in the field of energy, looking forward to enhancing and developing means of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially energy-related fields, appreciating the Kingdom's keenness and follow-up to the stability of Cyprus and its support in all forums. During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership that brings together Saudi Arabia and Cyprus in various fields and at various levels, stressing the importance of boosting continuous communication between the two sides. The attendees also commended the development witnessed by Saudi-Cypriot relations, which are supported by mutual visits between officials in various sectors, stressing the importance of continuing these meetings, especially parliamentary visits between the joint friendship committees in the Shura Council and the Cypriot parliament, to strengthen joint parliamentary ties. The Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committees aim to develop and strengthen ties of friendship and communication with their counterparts in other countries in a way that enhances the Kingdom's relations externally and to achieve greater communication and coordination in various parliamentary forums at the regional and international levels.
