President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Dr. Mohammed Al-Jasser met yesterday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Gabon to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Membourou Guy Ibrahim. The two sides discussed cooperation, as the total approvals of the Islamic Development Bank Group in various sectors exceeded USD 508.5 million, including USD 483.3 million by IsDB and USD 25.2 million by the Islamic Corporation of the Islamic Development Bank. Dr. Al-Jasser underlined the growing and satisfactory cooperation with the Republic of Gabon, stressing the active portfolio of the Islamic Development Bank Group in the country, the bank's readiness to enhance cooperation in bilateral and regional initiatives, and continuing to deal with the Republic of Gabon in priority strategic areas, such as economic and social infrastructure. For his part, Ambassador Membourou emphasized strengthening cooperation between the Islamic Development Bank Group and the Republic of Gabon, hoping that Gabon would benefit from the scholarship program of the Islamic Development Bank as part of human capital development efforts, noting that many economic reforms are being implemented in Gabon, such as: establishing new special economic zones to attract foreign direct investment, and the creation of the National Agency for Investment Promotion (ANPI).
