The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) held a virtual meeting today, to discuss ways and mechanisms of cooperation in developing and implementing several joint programs, and organizing activities and training courses in science and technology, aimed at contributing to the employment of scientific thought to achieve peace and face the challenges facing the world. A statement issued by ICESCO said that the two sides discussed topics, including holding an international conference on the mutual impacts of science and culture, and organizing a series of workshops related to the impact of deforestation on climate change in light of religious beliefs, biodiversity policies in different countries and cultures, science diplomacy and the future of health care, in addition to holding seminars on engaging religious leaders to support the achievement of sustainable development goals, as part of discussing arrangements to celebrate the city of Rabat, as the capital of culture in the Islamic world for 2022.
